REFUSE BIN COLLECTION – WEATHER EMERGENCY NEWS

WEATHER EMERGENCY – REFUSE BIN COLLECTION

MESSAGE FROM SOUTH NORFOLK DISTRICT COUNCIL WASTE COLLECTION SERVICE – FRIDAY 2 MARCH 2018

“Weather conditions have made it impossible for us to deliver the refuse collection service over the past three days and also limited the service on Tuesday. We, therefore, have a backlog of over 50,000 bins across the District. As a result we have drawn up a recovery plan.

This plan will start on Monday [5 March] and we ill be aiming to collect those bins we didn’t collect this week, in the first few days of next week.

In order to achieve this, all the USUAL bin collections next week will be two days later, with those on Friday being collected the following Monday [12 March].

We will be prioritising the domestic waste collection over the brown bin service due to these exceptional circumstances in order that we catch up and return to a normal service as quickly as possible”
