As many Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall people visit Wreningham Village Hall from time to time, you’ll all be interested to know that a new automated external defibrillator has now been fitted at this Hall.
This device, which can play a vital role in saving people’s lives and works by detecting an abnormal heart rhythm and then sending an electric shock to restore a normal one, is now fixed to the wall of Wreningham Village Hall in Mill Lane, next to its car park.
Open Gardens – The proceeds from this year’s Village Open Gardens event held over the weekend of 17/18 June 2017, which amounted to just over £1,100, have now been given to four charities as follows: BIG C = £300; EACH (East Anglian Children’s Hospices) = £300; All Saints’ Church, Ashwellthorpe = £200; St Nicholas Church, Fundenhall = £200. Ashwellthorpe’s annual Cream Tea was held on a glorious afternoon this week in the garden of David Turner’s Woodman’s Lodge and a good crowd turned out to enjoy scones, jam and cream, washed down with a cup of tea or two. The garden was looking splendid; thanks must go to Mr Turner for hosting the event and to the many bakers and helpers on the day who made it such a good village event. Over £330 was raised.
