Gardening

What could be more pleasant than picking you own fruit and vegetables from the garden?

Or watching the wildlife from your window which you have attracted there by planting flowers and suitable shrubs?

Also the government is trying to encourage people to grow some of their food for health, economy and reducing the food miles.

If you do not already garden why not give it a go…………………..

OCTOBER 2014 MEETING of ASHWELLTHORPE GARDENING CLUB

Seventeen members of the Gardening Club attended the meeting on 16 October (with 12 apologies for absence) when the main topic of conversation was the Open Gardens event in 2015. A sub-group of the Club was set up to work on the details with a provisional date of the weekend of 13/14 June 2015 being looked into and checked against other public events scheduled in the area. Public liability insurance and  an events licence will be investigated as well and publicity with www.opengardens.co.uk  will be sought. It was thought that money raised from our Open Gardens event should be split between Ashwellthorpe Village Hall (which acts as the central hub for selling tickets and providing refreshments and toilet facilities) and a charity yet to be chosen.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR GARDEN TO BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON 13/14 JUNE 2015, OR IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP IN ANY WAY – CONTACT DEBBIE DE SPON on 01508 488300.
