Friday 21 October 2011 – “The Athlete” a film (biopic) by Davey Frankel and Rasselas Lakew premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2009, tells the story of the life of Abebe Bikula after he became the first African to win a Gold Medal in the 1960 Rome Olympics’ Marathon. Duration 1hr. 29 mins.

Friday 25 November 2011 – “Senna” a biopic/documentary directed by Asif Kapadia of the life of Ayrton Senna the three-times World Formula 1 Champion who died at the age of 34. The film follows his life in the 1980s. At one time Ayrton Senna drove for Lotus based at Hethel and lived at Snetterton and Attleborough. Duration 1hr. 46 mins. Rating 13 – PG.
