The next of Rick and Nancy’s parish walks will be on Sunday 24 September 2017, meeting at St Nicholas Church, Fundenhall, at 10.00 a.m. and the route will be about 5 to 6 miles’ long. If the weather has not been too wet, the plan is to head over Flordon Common (which can be a bit wet under foot on occasions) and back via the path through Redwing’s and then past Hapton Church.
Sunday 12 November 2017 – meet at 10.00 a.m. at the Lizard Car Park, Silfield, to walk about 5 miles using the local public footpaths, quiet roads and visiting Silfield Nature Reserve.
Sunday 7 January 2018 – the usual New Year walk will start, hopefully, from Ashwellthorpe Village Hall at 10.00 a.m.
Rick and Nancy display notices for the walks on Parish Council notice boards about two weeks before walks and notify directly those people who have requested to be on a list. They get asked if walkers can bring their dogs and say Yes they are welcome as long as kept under control. Rick and Nancy also say please be aware that some walks cross stiles, which might present a difficulty and others cross fields where livestock are kept.
